As a manager of a travelling ball club - the requirements on
the bags that carry our equiptment is very heavy. Remember to
not go cheap on the team bags. There is nothing worse than having
catchers gear sprawled all over the parking lot, because you wanted
to by the cheap team bag.
This doesn't mean you have to throw money away - but make sure
you pick a quality name and the bag is large enough to carry all
the equiptment comfortably.
Player Bags -
Should have a seperate compartment for cleats
and a second area for a couple baseball bats. These are the only
musts. The Louisville Bag below has all of this and looks pretty
sharp. Keeping cleats seperate from the rest of the equiptment/uniform
will help you save greatly on the washing. Nothing worse than
playing a game and having diamond dirt all over your clean street
clothes.
Bat Bag -
So, what should comprise a baseball bag?
1. A bat tunnel - This means a seperate place the length of the
bag just for the bat.
2. A pouch for your Cleats. This zippy pouch will keep your clothes
clean. Remember to knock the dirt off your cleats before you put
them away.
3. Its great to have some internal bags for keeping things like
your wallet and keys, etc.
4. A heavy sholder strap would also make a lot of sense.
Team Bat Bag -
You are going to need several bats, various weight differences
for the kids. A heavy bat or donut is also a good warmup tool.
